Button-Up Shirt: Wardrobe Staple

A button-up shirt is a wardrobe must-have for all women. Sheer or bold, quirky print or classic white, tucked-in or out, teamed with your trousers or denims or shorts or a sexy skirt, whatever style or way you wear it, button-up shirts are an essential element of every wardrobe.

What style?
A silky or quirky printed is a must have this season - they will add en edge of sophistication or fun to your look and these versatile pieces can be worn from day to night, office to a cosy dinner and work in all seasons. Pick a silky one to glam up your look and a quirky print to make it more fun.

Let's check how some of our stylish celebs have worn their button-up shirt look.

Silky Button-down

Rose Byrne looks stylish wearing her georgette white crochet button-up shirt with a yellow skirt. Lace-up stilettoes and a splash of red nail polish was the perfect finishing touch.

You can make a nice white button-up shirt playful with bright something like Rose, or you can make it sexy and stylish with smart shorts as seen on a model at New Zealand Fashion Week 2011. You can wear it at work with a jacket and carry it on for a night party.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Pick a smart white silky button-up blouse for an interesting look and pair it with smart shorts in a basic neutral (think white, nude) like Kourtney Kardashian. She works her look pretty well, and the black slingbag makes for the perfect accessory.

Nicky Hilton and the ever stylish Alexa Chung wear their printed shirts with shorts in two different ways. Voted as one of the ten Vogue's best dressed woman, Alexa wore her quirky red polka dot red shirt tucked-in with shorts and cutesy red sunglasses, while Nicky wears her oversized floral shirt tucked-out and knotted with shorts. Love both the ladies in their button-up shirt look.

Love the double dip of silky printed blouse worn by a model on the runway of Aussie designer Little Joe at The Famous Edit Runway Show as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney 2011. White was the prime colour of the look and the tan belt and matching shoes completey inched up the style quotient of her ensemble.

Lingerie Guide for Every Outfit

Article Source: Instyle

From the pretty to the practical, we give you the lowdown on the best lingerie around for every outfit and occasion, so you need never go unsupported again!

With so many styles of underwear and bra accessories out there, finding the right style to suit your outfit can be tricky, but fear not - we’ve matched this season’s most stylish dress silhouettes to the right under-shapes, and bring you top tips from lingerie-loving experts! READ ON

Assymetric - What to wear with a one-shouldered dress

This funky silhouette is probably the trickiest to work your underwear with, but there are plenty of strapless and convertible styles that will help prevent any fashion faux pas!

Our favourites…

Myla’s silk bra has that super-luxe girly feel, and it’s practical with handy removable straps. Plus, the balconette cut means that the cups sit low down and won’t peep out over your dress. (Bottom right - Silk bra and knickers, £59)

For a little extra support try Wonderbra’s convertible Multiplunge. It can be worn (literally) a hundred different ways, including with both straps over one shoulder. (Top right - Wonderbra multiplunge bra, £29, Debenhams)

Marks and Spencer also has good convertible bras.

Body-con

With a figure-hugging dress you’ll need a little extra coverage, but don’t forget to keep things smooth - think seam-free on top and sculpting on the bottom.

Our favourites…

They may not be the most glamorous choice of undies, but Spanx’ tummy-holding-in pants will work instant miracles. (Bottom right -Spanx power panties, £24, Austique)

Alternatively, Wundervoll’s high-waisted retro-inspired panties are great for keeping things streamlined, and come in neutral but pretty prints.

If you’re looking for over support, opt for a body-smoothing corset. This one by Yummie Tummie has removable straps too. Centre- Yummie Tummie bodysuit, £75, My-Wardrobe)

Sheer

If you’re having a demure day then stick to a nude bra or loose fit cami under sheer shirts and tops. But when you do want to channel a little coquette then this is your chance to be play peek-a-boo with pretty prints and intricate cuts.

Our favourites…

The nude bras the holy grail of your underwear drawer - get one with convertible straps to cover all bases. Be sure to buy one in a shade that matches your skintone as closely as possible if you plan on sporting it under something sheer, though. Brands such as Marcks and Spencer, La Senza, Lejaby and Chantelle offer a range of different shades.

Brightly coloured bras are softened with a slightly sheer blouse over the top, so you’ll just see a hint of something cute and colourful. (Bottom left - French lace balconette bra, £155, Deborah Marquit).

If you want to keep things demure then choose vintage style vest. (Right - Picolla silk-crepe chantilly lace camisole, £155, Rosamosario)

Deep V

When you’re wearing a cleavage-flaunting dress, you’ll want a style that remains well hidden, so go for nude or stick on styles.

Our favourites…

La Perla do a great range of nude bras in plunging fits – perfect for keeping you supported while giving the illusion that you’ve got nothing underneath. (Centre - Deep plunge multiway, £110, La Perla).

La Perla can be steep for your budget. You can get good nude bras from Marks & Spencer, Triump or La Senza (easily available in all countries including India)

For super-low-Vs pick up some adhesive magicups from Braza - great for backless styles too. (Top right - Magicups adhesive bra, £21.50, Braza at Rigby & Peller)

Just to be safe…

These magic strips will do everything from secure your plunging neckline to neatly holding away messy bra straps. (bottom right - Fashion tape, £10, Myla)

Just for fun…

Our pick of the prettiest bras around; for your eyes only (and your man’s - if he’s lucky enough)

For the brave: Channel your inner Madonna with La Perla’s cone bra (Bottom left- Feuillage tulle conical bra, £360, La Perla at Net-a-Porter)

For petites: A delicate and slightly sheer set with a subtle print is just as feminine as one with lashings of lace. Try this vintage look bra and bloomers from Danielle Scutt and Richard Nicoll's cool design collab for Topshop (Top centre - pink chiffon bra and briefs, £55, Topshop).

For curves: This pink lacy number is perfect for a hot date, or whenever the romantic mood takes you! The seamed, full-cups will offer added support and create a fabulous 50s-style silhouette. (Bottom right - Saucy red underwire bra and briefs, £67 for set, Elle MacPherson)

Shopping secrets…

1. Don't think in terms of ‘everyday’ and ‘special occasion’ bras - "The cut and what you'll be wearing over it is more important," says Therese Gilligan, of Playtex.

2. Myla's Cynthia Gabay says look for marks of quality - evenly matched colour throughout, a care label and metal or coated-metal sliders. "Also, underwires shouldn't extend too high - you want 1.5cm of space under your arm."

3. Invest in good quality lingerie. Proper support and comfort is essential to ensure you can carry off yourself everytime with confidence. This is not an area where you should think about cutting back.

Shopping for your shape

1. The more seams, the more support - so if you're busty, a seam-free or moulded style tends not to be suitable as your main daytime bra. A full-cup bra is great for bigger boobs though, and the sctructures shape will give a sexy silhouette that great for under fitted tops. There's a good range of minimiser bra styles available everywhere if you want to look more demure.

2. If you have a more modest cleavage, then a plunge bra is great for giving you a boost. And remember, having a smaller bust also means you can afford to experiment with styles and opt for pretty over practical.

3. Check your size every year and after any changes such as pregnancy or weight loss. Get a professional, independent fitting, or go to Figleaves for easy-to-follow pointers.

Care

1. Hand-washing bras will ensure they last longer. If you have to machine wash (never machine wash silk), use the lowest temperature and drip-dry.

2. Check bras for wear regularly - if you can pull out the back strap more than a few centimeters on the tightest hook, you need a new one.

3. The wired bras need special care as rough handling can break the wire. Make sure they're washed and dried delicately.

Celebrity Handbag Style - Steal the Look for Less

You don't need to break your budget to look stylish. We've selected some good highstreet steals which are look alike of your favourite celebrity handbag picks.

Lindsay Lohan was spotted in Beverly Hills, California wearing a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and carrying a Burberry Studded Metallic Leather bowling bag which retails at $1,895. You can get a similar looking studded bag, the steal, for £45 from River Island. We love RI's bag - they're stylish and good quality and they also sport a good range of non-leather bags.

Studded bags make a stylish statement and is a good way to make a statement. You can toughen up a feminine look with a smart studded bag. We also spotted Vanessa Hudgens in California toting a Alexander Wang Diego Studded Bag. You can get a similar bucket bag, the steal, from Matt and Nat's collection, i.e. Matt and Nat Barca Bag for £44.

Chloe Marcie Satchel Bag has become an iconic bag and celebrity favourite. Rachel Bilson, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, Katie Holmes, Olivia Palermo, pretty much all the stylish celebs had been spotted carrying Choe's Marcie's Bag.

Now there are two reasons we wouldn't want you to buy it, one it is leather - there's no reason for us to kill a poor animal for a bag and second it would require steep budget to buy. So we've found a look alike of Chloe's Marcie Satchel Bag which is cruelty free and way within the budget.

Art of Putting Together a Look with Pants & Tops

Looking stylish is not about wearing designer clothes or carrying expensive bags. It is about being innovative, it is an art of putting an outfit together. A simple tee and well-fitted pants styled with right accessories can help you look like zillion bucks, which you may even fail with loading designer stuff from head to toe.

Most of us find the idea of getting ready very daunting, every time we want to step out of the house. Well, no more. We have chosen some stylish celebs who have hit the bull's eye by wearing the timeless style of combining the right pants and tops, accessorising them wisely and coming out with flying colours looking stylish. Let's take some cues from them and work on our looks with ease.

Keri Hilson nails a stylish look in a timeless style wearing skinny grey denim pants with a simple sleeveless feminine blouse. The gold layered necklace adds a nice touch to her look and actually puts it to the level of 'chic'.

Her handbag and sky high platform pumps aids to the chicness of the look.

The petite, 30 years old, Rachel Bilson was spotted in LA looking incredibly chic in denims and army green tank tee that she layered with a smart structured black jacket topped off with two-toned leopard print scarf. She accessorised with grey booties and a black quilted Chanel Bag.
Rachel's look hits the chic mark because of the way she carefully put her accessories together. An exotic print scarf is a smart pick to draw attention, while I think it's great how Rachel cuffed her jeans a bit above the shoe line, to show off the hint of black socks that she wore with her booties. That's clever yet doesn't need a big brainer to work on your own.

Rachel Bilson

Here are incerpts of Rachel Bilson's interview from InStyle where she tells us how she creates an effortless stylish look every time we spot her: "It’s fun to add pops of color here and there. I like to start out with a basic canvas (a white T and jeans), and then add a yellow sweater (H&M has some great ones) and maybe pink shoes. If it’s too much, one or the other provides enough color. When combining hues, you want to use shades that complement one another, such as lavender and brown or blue and green."

Pair of dark denims topped with a wide sleeved blouse and Victoria Justice impresses with her stylish and cute side.

The wide layer sleeves of her top and a nice hue of blue isn't too hard to find from the high street. Right choice of accessories just makes it so perfect - an edgy and cute feather brown necklace, woven matching bracelet and laceless oxfords matching the accessories. Blue and brown look good together.

Isn't it a stylish look easy to create? Just put your thinking cap on and create a million dollar look with your simple pieces and add an edge to it by flowing your creative juices. Or just read on for more ideas ;)

A simple white tee, layered with a cardigan and denims - what's the catch? Instead of wearing her jeans in usual style, Zoe Saldana creates an edge to her look by rolling up her skinny jeans and adding smart accessories - bootish open toe wedges, a smart matching tote and sunglasses.

Now you can easily put together this look with carefully selected high-street pieces, without breaking your wallet and fretting over what to wear.

Zoe Saldana again hits us with a stylish look dressed in a casual and simple outfit. She paired a sleeveless-striped top with black trousers and perforated sandals. And she shows us that you don't have to worry about repeating your pieces, by carrying the same handbag that we spotted on her just above.

There's no harm in repeating your wardrobe pieces, just learn to redefine them by creating different looks with the same pieces.

She completed her black and white look with red lips. Now thats a look very easy to pull off. Whoever said you need 'unique' clothes to look different and stylish? It's about creating 'different' look with your simple pieces by paying simple attention to detailing while mixing and matching up.

BTW, love the fact that Zoe Saldana is carrying a vegan luxury bag - Falabella by Stella McCartney!!!!!

Anne Hathaway makes a bold choice by teaming black cargo pants with a blue crochet sweater over a pink tee and finishing it off with studded loafers and square aviators. But I must say she pulls it off  rather well.
Whether its cargo or khakhi or just denim pants - but smartly teaming it with interesting pieces can work the magic. Even if it does not, just carry it with confidence and you'll pull it off well.

Kristin Cavallari looks effortlessly stylish in a a gray asymmetric sweater paired with skinny white jeans. Sky high sandals in white and wood and grey satchel finish off her look.

The white and grey combi is what makes this work for me.

Tailored and cropped was the route Kylie Minogue chose. Khakhi high-waisted pants teamed with white shirt and brown belt and bag and she looks chic and stylish.

How to wear? The tailored and cropped trouser can run from pleated and slim to baggy and slouchy. A pleated pair will flatter curvier ladies who need more hip room, while a slim cut slung low is best for girls with narrow hips or a long torso. (Source)

Lindsay Lohan was spotted arriving at LAX Airport in a white shirt paired with black leggings. Now when I put together this look in my mind, it doesn't sound very enticing. However, one look at Lindsay's picture and I am convinced that you can certainly look chic and stylish with these two timeless pieces which wouldn't be hard to find anyone's closets.

So how does she do it? A long white shirt would be slouchy on its own, so a clever way of adding a feminine touch would be to cinch it with a smart belt, like the black belt with metal buckle (Chanel) Lohan cinched her waist with. A straw hat and sunglasses gave it a nice summery touch, while her blue bag added a pop of colour (not visible in the picture). She finished the look with boots tucked over the leggings. Simple and stylish, and yet very easy to pull off.

Lindsay Lohan Arriving at LAX
Whether its a simple white shirt or a printed one, you can never go wrong with blue denims paired with a smart well-fitted shirt. Lindsay Lohan certainly got it right when she styled her lustworthy well-cut plaid shirt with a dark blue denim and ankle length boots. Her rocker chic black studded bag and white scarf adds instant glamour to an otherwise rather simple everyday easy jeans look.

Lindsay Lohan in Beverly Hills with studded bag

Magenta pants, simple white tee layered with a black jacket and accessorised with black wayfers sunglasses, mink boots and studded bag (Burberry Studded Bag as seen on Lindsay Lohan above) and the outcome? A stylish Rachel Bilson.

Did you like the studded bag that was spotted on Lindsay and Rachel above? You can get a steal of the same from River Island, click here to buy.

Yet again, Zoe Saldana puts together a very smart look, by thinking a little out of the box with simple pieces - well-fitted bootleg denim pants, a feminine shirt with a pop of colour and matching across body bag. She let the coral of her blouse stand out and kept the accessories, makeup and hair simple. No jewelry or flashy bags but smoky eyes and matching nails.

She added an edge to her look by the way she wore her crepe coral shirt - instead of keeping it completely tucked-in she just kept the front in and loosened it from the sides and back. Now that was a risque, which very well paid of.

Quick Tips:

- Well-fitted pants, whether its your everyday denims or khakhis or elegant trousers, paired with any upper - top, shirt or a simple tee, can look stylish. The key is a good-fit, so invest in good pants.

- Accessorising is the key. Bag, belt, scarf or jewelry or a combination of all. No one can undermine the power of key accessory on any ensemble.

- Make it interesting by adding a pop of colour: whether through a bag, hat, scarf, bright lips, coloured top or bright bottoms.

- If you're donning this look for the day, then make sure to add a stylish pair or sunglasses. They add instant chic to your look and hide your flaws.

- Use your creative side and add a twist like we've seen on some of the stylish ladies, above.

- Do your hair however you like, pull them down or up the key is that your hair should go with the overall look.

Prabal Gurung - Red Carpet Favourite Designer

Singapore-born Prabal Gurung is making raves in the fashion world with his exquisite designs, beautiful silhouettes and has become a new favourite of celebrities and fashion critics alike. Prabal has worked with Bill Blass and Cynthia Rowley, before lanuching his own label in 2009.

We love his designs, the feminiity and freshness in his collection and an interesting twist that he brings in his clothes.

From the young and risk taking Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to sophisticated Demi Moore and even Michelle Obama, all love his designs. Lets check out our favourite celebrity looks from Prabal Gurung's collection.

Zoe Saldana sported a fun colour clashed look at a bash in LA wearing an acid pink Prabal Gurung tank that she layered with the designer's feather textured sleeve tee and crepe de chine green skirt all from Prabal Gurung's Resort 2012 collection. Totally digging her look, fun and stylish. Zoe's a fashion risk taker and more often than not, we like how she plays it.

Zoe loves Prabal Gurung so much, that she has been sighted quite a few times in his creations. At another Vanity Fair event, Zoe gave another stylish look in Prabal's red and pink dress, which she cinched with a black belt. Love the way the two colours were put together.

Gorgeous 26 years old, Amanda Seyfried was spotted in Prabal Gurung's stylish asymmetric green dress at the Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego, California. This dress is edgy and effortlessly stylish. Love the colour.

Gossip Girl's uber stylish Leighton Meester never fails to make a mark in her fashion credentials, whether it is her popular show or red carpet events. And at Vogue Fashion Fun Awards 2010, she picked an interesting and gorgeous Prabal Gurung's white creation dusted with swarovski and asymmetric neckline. You like?

Young and fashion forward, 14-year old actress, Hailee Steinfeld wore a stylish ivory racerback dress by Prabal Gurung at the Golden Globe Awards, 2011. Now we'd think any gown would add years to this young actress, but thankfully Prabal's fresh and young creation was what she picked for the Awards, which just added to her style factor, without adding yrs!!!

Fashion's darling, Diana Kruger wore a risqué Prabal Gurung's glam creation at a dinner hosted by Tiffany & Co. and completely dazzled us. Prabal's this creation from his fall collection has a lot going on with silver and gold hand painted sheet metal sequins, feathers and embroidered details, yet looks a million bucks. Love how the dress is sexy yet demure - the shimmering embroidery gives it a sultry look while the three-quarter sleeves and high neck detailing adds the demure touch to it .

And its just not the young gals sporting Prabal's exquisite pieces but even Michell Obama to Demi Moore to the sexy Kate Hudson hit the red carpets in his creations.

48 year old, Demi Moore hit the red carpet at the Met Ball in a Prabal Gurung's feathered creation. Prabal's designs sure have an edgy style and glam appeal. I think Demi looks every inch a Hollywood star, and at 48 she sure carries the look very well.

I am completely loving Prabal Gurung's dresses, and hope to soon get one in my wardrobe (looks like time to start saving)!!!!
